The course focuses on a detailed theoretical and practical explanation of the proper ways of dealing with the accidents of chemicals.
The course is concerned with a comprehensive review of chemicals, namely those which are regularly dealt with in labs. Unlike laboratory safety courses, this course focuses on the proper ways of dealing with chemicals. There is a space of time, thus, to shed light on dealing with the dangers of chemicals in a meticulous detail instead of focusing on other laboratory safety topics which could be neither concentrated nor comprehensive. The course will also shed light on the danger of chemicals and their effect on health and how to use and handle them in case of infiltration and pollution. The course will also focus on how to deal with different chemical accidents whenever they take place and the important first aids together with how to get rid of the used chemicals and recycling some of them. The course also will discuss chemical accidents that cause fires or explosions and the ways of dealing with such accidents.
Professor Ali Bumajdad has solid experience in the field of environment, nanotechnology, catalysis, cement and concrete, detergency, energy, sustainability, water-related research, etc.
Prof. Bumajdad has a broad experience in nanomaterials and nanotechnology. He targeted materials with environmental, renewable energy, sensors, water treatment, and green chemistry applications (e.g. pure and doped CeO2, TiO2 and ZnO, MgO, SiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, Ag, Au, Ni, graphene, carbon nanotube, functionalized activated carbon, etc.)
